Wagestream was created as a means to give those people in need a way to take control over their finances and reduce personal debt. Wagestream allows users to track what they’ve earnt, stream those wages when they need them, and whilst doing so become better educated on making their money go further. By giving people financial flexibility, it helps prevent them from entering into cycles of debt caused by overdraft fees, high interest credit or worst case – payday loans.
In 2019, Wagestream raised their £40mn Series A. This allowed them to expand their core team, focus on UK customer acquisition and start to build out their operations in the US, Netherlands and Spain.
Recently, Wagestream announced their £20mn Series B which will fuel their international expansion as they aim to become the global market leader for salary advancement and financial wellbeing.

Why is the role needed?
Wagestream are scaling their business on a number of fronts. They are expanding into new markets, investing in product diversification, building out their business operations and scaling their platform.
To achieve all of these things, Wagestream see the value in having a small core of experienced Product Engineers that are responsible for owning initiative or projects that drive high internal and/or external business value. This could be owning a major new partnership integration, taking a new product idea from concept to MVP, or looking at scaling challenges with the platform.
The Lead Product Engineer role is unique, you operate with autonomy, owning the initiatives you are given and have the ability to have a positive impact across multiple areas of the business.
