Your Role
As Senior Frontend Engineer – Web, you join one of our two cross-functional Growth Missions and join a group of 5 web engineers working hand in hand with Product Managers, Designers and QA Engineers. We have ambitious growth targets for 2021 and web already drives a majority of revenue and growth for Blinkist. Thus, web is our main lever to grow the customer base through great product explanation and onboarding.
- You join one of two growth focused web teams ensuring that we clearly lay out our value proposition to new users to directly drive business impact and revenue.
- In our cross-functional team, you take ownership of managing and extending our web platform.
- You elevate your peers by giving and receiving feedback to build trust, transparency and shared knowledge.
- You focus on our frontend stack and leverage your engineering skills to bring our frontend technically to the next level.
- You own the development cycle front to end – produce high-quality maintainable code, contribute to requirements and planning, test changes and collaboratively review as well as ship it.
- Our tech stack is based on Ruby on Rails, vue.js & AWS with our development tools including GitHub, CircleCI, DataDog, JIRA & Airbrake.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, we believe that you need to have experience in a senior role and have a great drive to engage hands on in the frontend. This will usually equate to at least 5 years of experience developing web applications**.** To be more precise, …
- You should have deep technical knowledge about web applications, in particular on the frontend – experience with Vue.js, Ruby on Rails, & AWS are a big bonus
- You care deeply about creating a great, meaningful experience on the web & want to contribute to our mission inspiring more people to create a habit of learning.
- You have an overview of different programming paradigms and actively advocate ideas to improve our codebase, the system’s architecture, and our development process.
- You strike the balance between business and technological impact, even when making complex decisions as part of your cross functional team.
- You actively share your experience and knowledge to mentor others, communicating your technical knowledge effectively with a focus on pragmatic next actions.
