Senior Front-end Engineer at MedExpress Enterprises Ltd (London, UK)

We are looking for a talented front-end software engineer to join us for a full-time position, to work on our range of successful e-commerce sites. Our front-end stack is based on Vue.js. The rest of our stack is Java-based and runs in AWS. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our systems and architecture to ensure we have a system that is reliable, performant and flexible for future change. The team is co-operative, helpful and always looking to improve.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of our development team on a daily basis to design, implement, and test new features, with product managers, UI/UX designers, and others providing input.
- Supervise the work and handle the communication with 1-3 front-end contractors who make HTML and CSS changes.
- Coordinate with, and provide input and help to the rest of the team when necessary regarding front-end build tools, JS/TS code and unit tests, and Vue.
- Help us upgrade our admin interfaces to modern standards using component libraries, and help improve their usability to increase the efficiency of our staff.
- Maintain and improve the codebase; recognise duplication, improve modularity, and ensure that we have a solid foundation for our continued growth.
- Help us refine our marketing and conversion using instrumentation and analytics.
- Think about more efficient ways to accomplish our business objectives.

Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject (may consider candidates without a degree but with equivalent experience/certifications).
- Excellent knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS, Vue.js, Webpack, HTTP and REST.
- Would be very useful to have good knowledge of Java and Spring MVC.
- Must be familiar with common end-to-end testing technologies and processes.
- An eye for usability and design.
- An interest in the overlap between data and UI – funnels, conversion and analytics.
- Self-motivated and hardworking.
- Innovative and able to adapt to a progressive environment.
- Interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to explain complex topics to people and audiences from different backgrounds.
