Senior Director, Engineering Systems Remote

• Solve complex technical problems for innovation at scale at Marqeta.
• Build world-class developer experiences for Marqeta engineers.
• Ensure a cohesive experience for the internal engineering community.
• Deliver a highly available, disaster-tolerant engineering system.
• Manage multiple teams of service owners to meet internal customer needs.
• Act as a technical advisor and influence peers on system evolution.

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or similar field). Will also consider candidates with equivalent work experience.
• 15+ years of experience leading technology teams and teams of teams. You are a technologist and a technology leader who has worked at large scale.
• Experience with Cloud Computing is a must. AWS experience is preferred.
• A strong commitment to Software Security is essential for the role.
• Deep experience working with and working on CI/CD systems and software delivery pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and to deal effectively with ambiguity.
• Prior experience with operational excellence, service ownership, incident response.
• A strong sense of Ownership, Customer Obsession, and Empathy.
• Strong written and oral communication skills. The ability to communicate complex technical ideas across all levels of the organization is critical.
