Bumble is seeking a General Counsel with a strong TMT background to manage a small but dynamic team and handle a range of fast moving, tech-focused matters both in the UK and internationally (excluding US and Canada).
This position is a fixed term contract for a maternity cover for 7 months commencing at the beginning of June 2024. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer based in the US, the applicant will enjoy an extremely broad role across Bumble’s product portfolio.

What you’ll be doing
- Manage legal risks and provide comprehensive international legal advice on a wide range of legal issues including safety, privacy, consumer, AI, product and corporate matters
- Develop and oversee strategic plans for the business on its compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage an impressive and established legal team including the Chief Privacy Officer, Head of Legal Safety, Head of IP and commercial, corporate and public policy counsel
- Keep on top of upcoming legislation affecting the business and advise on proactive and responsive engagement with regulators globally
- Manage legal budget
- Be a trusted adviser and work closely with business leaders
About you
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, 12+ years PQE
- Prior experience leading a commercial/ tech legal team
- Ability to adjust to evolving business priorities and needs
- You have superior leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrable experience working with all levels of stakeholders in a global corporation, including the executive leadership team
- You have a good understanding of the evolving regulations particularly relating to consumer law, data privacy, content/safety law and advertising/marketing standards to be able to provide effective advice to the business
- You’re able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
