Who you are
You are a visionary tech-savvy engineering leader that thrives on building things with real-world applications that you and your friends could talk about. You take pride in managing large, complex technical challenges and are comfortable pushing forward development best practices across the engineering team. You ideally have at least five years of experience developing in back-end web and API environments. We write most of our core systems in Ruby on Rails, but we are flexible on your specific experience; we care more about general engineering acumen than any specific tech. We would be really impressed if you had experience in eCommerce, payment systems, or the food and beverage technology space.
What the role is
In this Staff Software Engineer position, you will play an essential role on the engineering team by bringing an innovative mindset to scaling our web applications. You will need to be highly experienced in back-end technologies and take a proactive approach to scaling many complex systems. By partnering closely with product managers and other engineering leaders, you will balance “having your hands on the keyboard” with leading design discussions for large projects and informing some of our largest decisions for your team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for some of the most critical parts of Drizly’s customer base like our web and app shopping experiences.
